Commercial properties and land
The Energy Transition Zone (ETZ) Ltd will reposition the north east of Scotland as a globally recognised integrated energy cluster. It will focus on the delivery of net zero and a global leader in hydrogen, offshore wind and carbon capture and storage.
It offers 40 hectares of development sites across specialist campuses, to create the largest dedicated energy transition industrial complex in Scotland. It will become a thriving catalyst for high-value manufacturing, R&D, innovation and skills supporting the acceleration of low carbon energy technologies.
ETZ Campuses
Marine Gateway
With direct quayside access, this is part of the £420 million Aberdeen South Harbour development, a new deep-water harbour designed to accommodate the larger ships required to support offshore renewables.
It is ideally located for accessing the huge offshore wind opportunities in the North Sea, including the ScotWind sites – the world’s largest commercial offshore wind leasing round to date
Skills Campus
Committed to developing the skills required for Scotland to transition to net zero, ETZ's Skills Campus includes the National Energy Skills Accelerator (NESA) designed to develop fresh talent.
The Energy Transition Skills Hub offers flexible teaching spaces, a Technologies Demonstration and Teaching Facility and a Welding and Fabrication Academy.
Innovation Campus
Home to the brand-new Energy Incubator and Scale Up Hub. New and growing supply chain companies can innovate and collaborate alongside likeminded businesses passionate about net zero.
Hydrogen Campus
Aberdeen's proximity to huge commercial offshore wind sites means the ETZ is the perfect location for large-scale green hydrogen production facilities and supporting manufacturing and supply chain activities.
The Green Hydrogen Test & Demonstration facility allows “on demand” hydrogen to be tested with industrial equipment.
Offshore Wind Campus
ETZ Ltd has partnered with Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult to develop the National Floating Wind Innovation Centre. The Centre will provide test and demonstration facilities and will drive collaboration between industry and academia to accelerate the commercialisation of Floating Offshore Wind.
